Wolds Optical is an independent family business based in East Yorkshire. We supply spectacles to independent opticians throughout the UK.

Our premises is equipped with up-to-date surfacing and glazing apparatus. We are continually investing in new technology to enable us to provide the best service possible and our staff have over 170 combined years of experience in the optical industry.

Our dedicated customer services team and knowledgeable lens technicians have a wealth of information about all our products and we can also call on the services of three qualified Dispensing Opticians within our company if you need assistance with dispensing queries.

In addition to lenses we offer glazed frame packages from many major frame suppliers.

We have the facility to order lenses 24 hours a day at a time convenient to yourself, so dealing with us has never been easier.

We strive to deliver value, service and high-quality products from our own lens ranges as well as all the major lens manufacturers with which we closely partner.

Steve Hodgson

Director

I have worked at Wolds Optical since 1995. I began in the surfacing dept before gaining experience in every area of the business, becoming company director in 2012. Outside the family business I am an on-call Firefighter in Driffield and in my free time I like to go fishing and cycling and spend time with my family.

Andy Hodgson F.B.D.O.

Director

I have worked in the optical industry for the past 17 years and started in the glazing dept before qualifying as a dispensing optician in 2008 and becoming company director in 2012. When I am not at work I spend time with my family, especially outdoors. I also like to keep fit, and particularly enjoy mountain biking.

Rachel Hodgson

Customer Services Manager

I have worked at Wolds Optical since 1999. Based in customer services, I manage all our customer accounts and I have experience of working in the laboratory. Outside work I love spending time with our 2 children and do a lot of charity work fundraising for our local pre-school and Driffield fire service.

Jeff Tate

Lab Manager

I have been lab manager here since 1996 and have worked in the spectacle manufacture sector for more years than I’m willing to admit to. I love to travel with my family and friends and I consider myself to be a connoisseur of real ales, having sampled over 1500 different varieties of beer from around the world.

Linda Flintoft

Customer Services

I work full time in the customer service department which I’ve done for over 20 years. When not at work I am an avid Hull City fan and hold a season ticket so my husband Phil and I go to as many home and away matches as we can and have travelled abroad many times to see them pre-season.
