Our in house surfacing facility gives you numerous single vision, bifocal and varifocal prescription options made to order.

We have a very experienced glazing team who work with a wide range of frame types ranging from metal, acetate, nylor and inline supras, wood, SPX and Optyl.  We specialise in rimless glazing and are highly recommended by Silhouette Eyewear.

In our lab we have a wide array of glazing machinery, namely Nidek robotic machinery and Essilor Mr Blue 2.0 Glazing Machines. In the hands of our highly skilled technicians this equipment can produce glazed lenses to the highest quality with an efficient turnaround.

Our normal turnaround for stock products is next working day. Surfaced products normally 1-2 working days. And surfaced AR coated or more complex products 5-7 working days.

We endeavour to maintain our high quality standards so occasionally we may have to extend these timescales.

Wolds Optical offer a remote edging service across our lens range. This service is compatible with the majority of lens tracers on the market. It allows you to receive pre-cut lenses direct to your practice which you can then fit easily into the frame. with no need to send in the frame to our lab, this saves you time and money.

Not available for rimless, apart from the Silhouette Rimless collection we can provide ready drilled for you to clip together (not applicable to CR39). 

At Wolds we appreciate everyone can get busy in practice, so as well as having an experienced customer services team we offer the facility to order lenses 24 hours a day via our online order page, so ordering lenses at a time that is suitable for you has never been easier. This gives you the freedom to place orders whenever is convienient for optimal time-management.

In addition to glazing frames supplied by you we also offer a number of all-inclusive glazed packages with frames from a large number of suppliers.

Wolds Optical ‘All in One’ packages allow customers to keep frames in their own practice, reducing postage and packaging costs and also reduce the risk of missing deliveries.

We will cut, edge and fit your patient’s lenses into any suitable frame.

We have a daily collection and delivery service within 30 miles of the Driffield area including: Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, Hornsea, Beverley, Goole, Hull, Knottingley, Harrogate, Knaresborough and York.

For practices further afield we deliver by first class post or DX delivery service. We supply prepaid labels so you can send your work to us.

We have invested heavily in state of the art glazing equipment so to provide a specialist sports wraparound glazing service. This is ideal for high basecurve sports frames or wraparound fashion sunglasses. This is a ‘milling’ process, so can produce very intricate shapes, step back bevels, drill holes and notches as featured in many modern performance sports frames from brands such as Oakley, Adidas and Rudy Project.
